Hunter’s Day for Penola bowls

HUNTER'S DAY WINNERS: Sponsors Maria and Ron Hunter with winners Terry Stone, Cheryle Doderidge, Danny Gaut and Kaylene Tink.

LAST Friday, two of the women’s pennant teams at the Penola Bowls Club managed to sneak in a couple of wins.

While Division 1 went down first to Port MacDonnell 61-30, Division 2 had an impressive win over Naracoorte RSL 57-21, and Division 2 defeated Naracoorte by 17 shots.

On Saturday, Open Division 2 lost to Kingston 52-78, Division 3 went down to Robe 69-79 and Division 4 also went down to Kingston Red 66-87.

On Sunday, The Marj and Ron Hunter Memorial Day was held, sponsored by Maria and Ron Hunter Junior and Mt Gambier AutoCare.

The winners were skipper Cheryle Doderidge, Danny Gaut and Terry Stone from Port MacDonnell and Kaylene Tink from Penola.

Runners up were from Penola skipper Kathy Brooks, Eddie Brooks, Jean Rogers and Roger Gibbs.

Today, the women’s Division 1 pennant team play at home against Mount Gambier RSL, Division 2 travels to Beachport to play Blue and Division 3 play at home against Lucindale.
