A report detailing the City of Mount Gambier’s approach to waste will be delivered as part of council’s upcoming meeting.

In April, councillor Paul Jenner called for a succinct update on waste services be delivered to elected members to help provide transparency and understanding.

In his rationale Cr Jenner said there were actions, like the Waste Strategy, the construction of Cell 4 at Caroline Landfill, the development of a Waste Masterplan, and ongoing leachate management and hard waste concerns, all taking place concurrently.

“As we all know we have been doing a lot of work budgeting and this will give us a bit more scope on where we need to be,” he said.

It is expected the report will be received at council’s next ordinary meeting on May 21.
