Well travelled competitors showcase fine form on course

A SINGLE stroke competition was played recently at the Blue Lake Golf Club and once again it was the women who have returned from holidays who dominated the winner’s circle.

Division 1’s Annette Ford is in fine form and continued on from her great score on the previous Saturday, carding 87 off the stick, 43/44.

That included three par’s on the front nine and two on the back nine.

Ford played off a 20 handicap resulting in a nett 67.

Josie Ashby was six shots behind, coming home with a score of 96-23-73 which included two par’s. Ashby was the nearest the pin second shot winner for her division.

The Division 2 winner’s were a close affair with a two-way count-back between captain Sue Agars (102-31) and Bev Pascoe (105-34) scoring nett 71 apiece.

Agars was the eventual winner, leaving Pascoe to collect the second prize voucher.

It was a close call for Fay Price, Dianne Allen and Beryl Mahoney, with all carding nett 71.

Mahoney was able to score herself a ball for winning the nearest the pin second shot on the par 3 14th hole and she also won the pro-shot prize.

Wednesday’s competition in stroke format and will include the monthly medal winners for the year competing for the Medal of Medals sponsored by life member Mrs Patricia Fallas.

The winners from February to September were Carol Megaw, Fay Price, Viv Wilson, Cherryl Hill, Josie Ashby, Helen Stratford (scratched due to injury) Helen Myers, Dianne Perryman.
