FARM MARKET FUN: MasterChef All Stars 2012 winner Callum Hann will visit the region this weekend, hosting cooking demonstrations as part of the Mount Gambier Farmers Market.

THE Mount Gambier Farmers Market will host Sprout Cooking School’s Callum Hann this weekend for two demonstrations.

Sprout was established in 2011 as a hands-on, healthy cooking school focused on educating people around how to enjoy fresh healthy and seasonal food every day and highlighting the relationship between food and health.

Mr Hann said he enjoyed teaching students how to cook healthier and tastier meals.

“We are lucky that we get to work with a wide range of people to inspire them to cook the fresh, healthy and seasonal food that we love,” he said.

“At Sprout, we believe there is no correlation between how long a dish takes to cook and how delicious it is.

“In fact some of our favourite recipes are the quickest to make.

“We take this approach of getting maximum flavour in a minimum time, using the best quality seasonal produce.”

Mr Hann said although he had visited our region numerous times, he was always excited to return.

“I’m always thrilled to visit Mount Gambier, I have some friends to catch up with and I love experiencing the delicious food, coffee and wine the region has to offer,” he said.

“It’s a great perk of the job to be able to explore South Australia.”

Once at the market, Mr Hann said he will spend time exploring what ingredients are on offer before he decides what kind of dish he will demonstrate.

“It is a great fun way to cook, as it is the way many of us approach a farmers market,” he said.

Demonstrations will be held at 9.30am and 11.30am Saturday.
