Ballsy performance set for city

ON SHOW: Puppetry of the Penis duo Simon Morley and David Friend are looking forward to revisiting Australia after frequent performances across North America and Europe.

FOR more than a decade, audiences have been wowed by the genital origami extravaganza that is Puppetry of the Penis.

Now, direct from Las Vegas, the comedic duo of Simon Morley and David Friend will return to shock and awe audiences by folding, twisting, bulging and scooping their junk into some unique creations.

Performing in nothing but tennis shoes, Simon and David will hit the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre stage in March to manipulate their genitalia into various shapes, objects and landmarks.

With worrying ease and an unbelievable stretch factor, the Puppeteers demonstrate installations such as The Eiffel Tower, The Windsurfer and even delights likes their signature dish The Hamburger.

A video camera projects intimate detail of the installation onto a large screen ensuring little can be missed – even from the back row.

This one-of-a-kind show made its debut at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 1988, where it received the “outright best show” honour, kick-starting a world-wide phenomenon.

Since then, the show has been played to over 10 million people in five different languages spread across 30 countries.

Puppetry of the Penis will be performed in Mount Gambier on March 20 at the Sir Robert Helpmann Theatre.
