SOME of the best clay shooters in the country will converge on the region on May 28 and 29 for the 20th annual English Sporting National Championships.

The South East Field and Game Club will host the event for Sporting Clubs Australia, the first time a National/International event has been held in the South East since the 1994 Fitasc World Titles.

A strong field has nominated for the event, including shooters from Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia set to take on the local South Australian shooters.

The 200-target event will be sponsored by LaPorte Australia, Bronzewing Australia, NSI Australia and Torresan Estate.

Millicent`s Jeremy Kent has been in top form recently and will start as one of the favourites, but he will face tough competition from the highly-ranked Robert Hall, Adam Shale and Xavier Russell, all from Victoria.
