EXCITEMENT levels peaked for the St Martins Lutheran College’s Reception to Year 6 students recently, with the annual Junior Sports Day.

The junior students were out to impress the crowds with their speed and agility.

A big number of parents, grandparents and friends were present to enjoy the large variety of events attempted by the 330 students.

After completing the official athletics events, students broke into year levels for some fun in the afternoon.

Junior school PE teacher and sports coordinator, Duncan Savage, was extremely happy with how the day unfolded.

“It is always awesome seeing how much fun students and families can have on a day like this,” he said.

“It is great that we recognise the athletic achievements, but we also recognise the sportsmanship and kind-heartedness displayed throughout the day by students.”

However, there can be only one winner, with Tremelling crowned this year’s athletics champions, ahead of Yeates, Livingston and Whitty.
