NORTH Sportsman’s and Mil Lel will do battle in Round 8 of women’s cricket this Sunday.

The clash will take place at Frew Park and a one-sided encounter is expected as the Tigers have asserted themselves as the juggernauts of the competition.

These teams have met twice already this year, with North claiming big wins on both occasions.

The first clash saw the Tigers win by 96 runs, then they backed it up with an impressive 82-run win at Marist Park two weeks ago.

Back in Round 6, Laura Chester was dominant with the bat and scored 59 runs in a stint which included five 4’s and four 6’s.

Jennifer Peterson took 2/7 for Mil Lel, while Lydia Megaw took 2/10 at an economy rate of 2.85 runs per over.

After the hosts scored an impressive 131 runs, they restricted the visitors to 49 runs, where Megaw top-scored with 15, while five players took wickets for North.

The Tigers have won five games from five, while Mil Lel has yet to taste success this season.

North Sportsman’s will continue its impressive season with a win in the penultimate round before finals.

A closer contest is expected at Virgo Park between Bordertown and Naracoorte.

These sides have met just once this season in a game where Naracoorte chased down the required runs with 10 overs to spare.

Emily Schutz scored an impressive 28 not-out and took 1/10 for Bordertown two weeks ago.

She was supported by Emma Twigden who took 1/2 when Bordertown last hosted Naracoorte.

The visitors will look to Kathryn Vine and Angela Donnelly to do the damage with the bat and the latter scored an unbeaten half-century against Mil Lel in Round 7.

Naracoorte will look to Ella Boston and Anna McGregor – who dominated with the ball on the weekend.

Clifton heads into this game after ending with figures of 2/8 in a four-over spell which included two maidens, while McGregor bowled two overs to end with 1/1.

Bordertown will be eager to redeem itself after it was comfortably defeated when it last played Naracoorte and will likely put up a much better contest.

However, Naracoorte has proven to be a difficult side to defeat and will claim victory in this contest.
