THE first of three rounds of the Olympic Trophy was played last week at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, with Faye Mainwaring finishing on 36 stableford points to win A Grade.
In a tight contest for second place, Val Grubb claimed the honours on a count-back after finishing euqal on 31 points with Sue Coulter.
B Grade saw a tight tussle, with Di O’Donnell taking out first prize from Marie Douglas on a count-back, after both finished with 36 stableford points.
C Grade winner Mary Kentish is in fine form at the moment with a few wins under her belt and finished with 39 points.
In second place was Betty Mckechnie with 37, ahead of Julie Robinson on a count-back.
A good score was required to collect a ball, which went to Betty McKecknie 37, Julie Robinson 37, Libby Altschwager 36,
Marie Douglas 36, Bernie Jennings 35 and Maxine McGregor 35.
Nearest the pin in A Grade for the second shot on the third fairway went to Mainwaring, the second shot on the 16th to Chris
Galpin in B Grade and the third shot on the 18th to Linley Gray in C Grade.
The pro-shot on the eighth green went to Julie Robinson.
