Generations in Jazz returns

GET JAZZY: Generations in Jazz kicks off today.

ONE of the state’s biggest jazz events is back in the South East for the first time since 2019.

Generations in Jazz (GIJ) has returned to Mount Gambier/Berrin, bringing thousands of students and jazz enthusiasts together in the region.

GIJ chair Tony Wright said the event is a huge boost for the city.

“Generations in Jazz brings thousands of people into our local community and we can’t wait to welcome them back to Australia’s home of jazz,” he said.

Mr Wright said one of the major drawcards for the weekend is jazz/pop group Dirty Loops.

“They are right in the middle of their European tour playing sold out shows in places like Copenhagen, so having them come to Australia for an exclusive show before resuming their tour in Oslo really is something

special,” Mr Wright said.

“They might not be a household name here in Australia, but we fully expect them to leave with a new legion of fans.”

GIJ will run from Friday night, May 5, until Sunday, May 7.
