THE Limestone Coast Red Meat Cluster has been awarded $15,000 for a strategic plan under the Federal Government’s Building Better Regions fund.

The plan, developed by Naracoorte Lucindale Council, will examine the business needs, including innovation and skills needs.

Member for Barker Tony Pasin said the Liberal and Nationals government’s investment in local projects under Round 3 would help grow the economy and build a strong future for Australia’s regions.

“It is projects like this that help industries grow and employ more people right throughout the supply chain,” he said.

“Giving industry the tools to be the best they can be means the regions and communities benefit too.

“It is all part of making regional communities even better places to live, work and raise a family.”

Mr Pasin said the Morrison Government is committed to ensuring Australia’s regions remain strong, resilient and prosperous in the long term.

“We are supporting our regions through investing in important local infrastructure, as well as great community building and planning initiatives under the Building Better Regions fund and other government priorities such as the Regional Growth fund and our decentralisation agenda,” he said.

“In this round we are also investing more than $70m in regional tourism infrastructure, to support those many regional communities that rely on tourism to bolster their economy.”
