Bell appointed as MacKillop Farm group chief executive

NEW CEO: The Mackillop Farm Management Group has welcomed new chief executive Meg Bell.

THE new chief executive of the MacKillop Farm Management Group (MFMG) was announced when the organisation’s 20th anniversary was celebrated at a gala event at Naracoorte Town Hall last month.

Meg Bell starts in the role this month, replacing Charlie Crozier, who has had to focus his time and energy on getting his farm back up and running following the Sherwood fire in January.

Mr Crozier spent the past two years as CEO, taking the organisation through a period of significant change in funding structures and project management.

Ms Bell grew up on a beef and cropping property near Millicent.

She has had experience working in both South Australia and Victoria and moved to Coleraine in 2016, establishing Coleraine Livestock Consulting the following year.

She is also involved with the Grassland Society of Southern Australia, the South Australian Livestock Consultants group and the Lifetime Ewe Management Program, while currently in the role of coordinator of the Limestone Coast Red Meat Cluster.

Ms Bell said she was excited to take on the new challenge in her role as CEO of MFMG and looking forward to working with new and existing colleagues.

“Charlie has done a wonderful job in the CEO position with MFMG and leaves some big shoes to fill – he did a great job at boosting the profile of MFMG and collaborating with many different organisations in the agricultural industry,” Ms Bell said.

“I hope to continue to build on Charlie’s efforts and to work hard at ensuring MFMG continues to be recognised as a farming systems group that serves its members and sponsors with a focus on both livestock and cropping.”
