A Day/Night event for the opening round of Autocross is set down for Saturday at SEAC Park’s Megaw Road Complex.

Round 1 of the McPherson Mechanical Autocross Series will see scrutineering from 1.30pm and action on track from 3pm.

The track surface has been massaged over the off-season and should provide a quick race surface for those who are prepared to push the limits.

Defending 2022 champion Dale Cagney will look to continue on with another good year of racing in his 4WD Mitsubishi EVO.

There are a handful of 2WD campaigners who will push Cagney all year, with Nick Cagney, Geoff Wilson, Matt Kirby, Jayden and Barry Edwards all capable steerers and can have a good day if the track conditions suit their individual driving styles.

Round director Curtis Boyd, Director for this round of the of 2023, will hope for a little help from Mother Nature, to provide a quick race surface and a little breeze to move some dust.

The public is welcome to head along to watch the action, either from the side of Megaw Road of the viewing mounds inside the complex.
