THE South East Automobile Club held its final round of the season at SEAC Park recently.

The day/night event proved promising as the track was dusty and firm before the start of proceedings.

Kevin Raedel drew the number one and was the first car on track.

His Falcon rally car took on the track with plenty of flair.

Nicholas Cagney put his Toyota 86 around the course for a fast time of 1:46.12, which was the quickest in the opening round.

He was followed by Geoff Wilson, who cranked out a good lap of 1:48.56.

Jayden Edwards rounded out the top three for the first round with a time of 1:48.93.

Damien Wilson found good pace to be next home with a tidy 1:49.00 and closely followed by the in-form Damien Brand, who stopped the clock at 1:50.44..

John Whitehead’s Phoenix Buggy came in next with a time of 1:51.00, while Dion Becker put himself in a good position early on with a time of 1:51.72 to take seventh spot.

Always one to watch, Gary Brown had the Falcon sideways at every opportunity and stopped the clock at 1:52.43.

Another with plenty of sideways action, Barry Edwards pushed his Commodore as hard as conditions would allow and returned home with a time of 1:52.62.

Young Corey Brand has learned how to drive a car quickly from his father Trent and Uncle Damien.

This was shown with excellent car control and claimed 10th place on the first run with an impressive time of 1:53.07.

Dale Cagney let loose in Rond 2 and looked to make up for a poor first run after a popped tyre.

He set the place alight with a time no one could match at 1:42.96.

Nicholas Cagney put in a similar time to his first run, with a 1:46.53 and finished one second ahead of the third-placed Damien Wilson.

The third stint saw Dale Cagney almost match his previous lap as he stopped the clock at 1:43.85 seconds to hold out his son Nicholas, who was just under two seconds back with a time of 1:45.47.

Wilson’s time of 1:47.38 was enough to claim third place, while Becker’s consistency continued as he claimed fourth spot.

Matt Kirby rounded out the top five when he came home with a time of 1:48.69.

Jayden Edwards found a better line than the last run to finish at 1:49.28, while Damien Brand was next after a time of 1:49.7.
