Rugby league players take to the field in support of mental health

ONE LAST TIME: The Blue Lake Knights will take to the field for the final time this season when they meet the Naracoorte Jets for the State of Mind Shield.

THE final round of Limestone Coast rugby league will take place this Saturday at Malseed Park.

Action will begin at 1pm when the Stawell Mounties and Warrnambool Raiders do battle.

This will then be followed by the match of the round when the two South East teams go head-to-head.

The Blue Lake Knights will kick off at 2.30pm against old rivals Naracoorte Jets to contest the State of Mind Shield in support of men’s mental health.

The Jets have had the upper hand over the Knights this season in their two previous encounters.

In the first clash, Naracoorte won by 14 points and it won the second by 10 points late in the game after digging deep.

Blue Lake heads into this game off the back of a heart-breaking last-minute defeat against Stawell last time out and will be eager to bounce back on Saturday.

While the Knights are out of the finals hunt, there is still plenty at stake, as the Jets could finish as high as first place but as low as fourth depending on outcomes.
