THE final of the Millicent Bowl’s Club Mixed Pairs was played last Thursday.

The competition began back in September, but due to Covid the decider had been postponed.

It was finally played over 15 ends between Rod and Carol Gibbs against Joy Warren and Aaron Emonson.

At the end of the match, Rod and Carol Gibbs emerged convincing victors to be crowned 2022-23 champions.

By the eighth end they were in front 18-5 and by the 14th end the score was 23-9, with the 15th end not required.

The grand final of the Men’s Handicap Singles was also played on the day, with Jim Campbell defeating Eddie Hann.

The duo competed over 21 ends with both players starting on eight shots each.

Hann was off to a strong start and held a 16-8 lead by the fifth end.

However, Campbell worked his way back into the game and was just one shot down at the 10th end.

He went on to secure a one-shot lead by the 17th end, before winning the next four to claim the 2022-23 Handicap Singles title.
