A FESTIVAL of cricket is set to take place on Sunday as the regular season draws to a close.

After games were postponed due to the rain, there will be four games played this Sunday.

Action will begin at 10am, where Mil Lel will take on Naracoorte at Alan Scott Park and North Sportsman’s will host Bordertown at Marist Park.

With finals just around the corner, Naracoorte will look to build momentum when it locks horns with Mil Lel.

Both sides have played six games this season and Naracoorte has claimed four wins, while Mil Lel has yet to claim a victory.

Naracoorte will head into this contest as firm-favourites after an impressive run of form.

When these two sides met earlier in the season, Naracoorte win the first game by 14 runs and the second meeting was comfortably by DLS as Naracoorte scored 3/127 off 20 overs and restricted Mil Lel to 3/21 off 10 overs before rain hit.

Kathryn Vine and Angela Donnelly have shown impressive form with the bat and will be key players in both of Naracoorte’s games this weekend.

Mil Lel will look to Jennifer Peterson, Madeline Burley and Lydia Megaw to make an impact in this Sunday’s double-header.

At Marist park, the Tigers will look to continue their winning streak when they host Bordertown for the first game of the day.

North is currently undefeated this season and no team has seemed close to matching the Tigers’ strength this campaign.

Laura Chester, Fiona Young and Layla McPherson will be the players to watch for North this weekend, while Bordertown will look to Georgina Buick, Ashlyn Knauerhase and Hayley Twigden to make an impact.

When these sides faced earlier in the season, North won by 39 runs.

The second leg of the double-header will see Mil Lel and North meet at Alan Scott Park, while Naracoorte and Bordertown will contest face each other at Marist Park with both clashes to start at 1.30pm.

The Tigers have won both games against Mil Lel, with the first a resounding 96-run win and the second an 82-run win.

In the battle for second, Naracoorte has come out on top on both occasions, with the first an eight-wicket win with 10 overs to spare and the second a 34-run win.

Both North and Naracoorte should keep their winning streaks going and will likely win both games this Sunday.
