A SMALL field of 19 golfers contested a stableford event in cold, wintery conditions last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club.

The course was heavy underfoot, with fast greens but was set up in a friendly manner for players.

It has been very common to see Rosalie Hunt’s name in the winners’ circle and once again she led the field with a fine score of 38 points.

Hunt scored two under her handicap of 27 and recorded an impressive birdie on he eighth hole.

Throughout the round, she also scored five three-pointers on the way to victory.

Hunt scored 18 points on the first nine holes, the finishes strongly with 20 on the inward nine.

Sue Coulter continued her impressive form when she claimed second place with a score of 37 points

Coulter played one under her handicap of 25 and scored 20 points in the front nine.

However, she only scored 17 points on the back nine and as a result, fell narrowly short of victory.

Helen McIntyre scored 32 points to claim third place.

McIntyre recorded seven three-pointers, which included six par holes.

Only two balls were distributed to players and the recipients were Kate McCormick and Denise Harvey.

Harvey was awarded for the pro-shot on the par three eighth Hole.

The award for the second shot on the par three sixth hole, went to B Grade’s Yvonne Shirley and C

Grade’s Jess Parsons.

The Kathy Ewer special prize of chocolates and a piccolo went to Harvey.
