Pritchard wins amidst tough conditions

IN very difficult conditions for golfers over the weekend, Joe Pritchard won the stroke round with a score of 67, with 93 off the sick.

Pritchard put in a consistent performance across both nines with a 47 and a 46 respectively.

Trevor Little’s 73 off the stick was enough to claim the A Grade competition with a final score 69.

His day was highlighted with a 34 on the back nine.

Michael Watts also finished on 69 and only missed out on the win by a count-back.

Keith Ransom had a strong finish on the back nine to claim third with a score of 70.

Roger Gale used his new chipper to full effect as he claimed the B grade competition with a score of 70.

Tom Drenthen was runner-up with a score of 71 and an impressive eagle on the 17th hole meant Aaron O’Donnell claimed third place with a score of 73.

Brenton Hodge continued his impressive run of form as he claimed the win in C Grade with a score of 70.

The ever-consistent Tony Morandin was runner-up on 71, while Cory Davis’s 72 meant he claimed third place with the help of a birdie on the 14th hole.

Ball winners for the day were led by Port MacDonnell member Joel Feast, Colin Ferguson, Nick Wilson, Bob White, Matthew Foreman, Josh Ransom, Tim Smith, Michael Millhouse, Gavin Coon, Bryan Scott, Anthony Williams and Garry Von Duve.

Scott was also the pro-shot winner on the fifth hole, while Scott Manning was the winner on the 16th.

Simon Perryman was the nearest-to-pin winner in B Grade, while Russell Lingham won C Grade and Adrian Wallace in A Grade.

Feast claimed the honours for the least amount of putts, while White claimed the A Grade longest drive.

Nicholas Driver won the award of the longest drive in B Grade and Robert Lindner was the winner in C Grade.

Helen Stratford was the winner of the Women’s stroke round with a score of 74 and 95 off the stick.

This was enough to defeat Jorja Morale who was a runner-up on count-back in an impressive performance before the SA Country Junior Championships.

Lynn Annand was consistent to finish with a score of 75 and claimed third place.
