The match of the round in Mid South East netball did not disappoint.

Robe and Glencoe battled for second place and the Roosters got off to a strong start thanks to accurate shooting from Halle Carter, who did not miss a goal in the first quarter.

Emma Grant and Georgia Perkins made it difficult for Glencoe’s goalies as they made the most of every opportunity to snatch rebounds.

The hosts went into the first break with a narrow one-goal lead.

Glencoe lifted in the second quarter and put the Roosters under pressure across the court.

Malinda Markiewicz and Jenna Paproth made the most of each turnover as Markiewicz shot 12 goals from 13 attempts in the quarter.

The Murphies led at halftime by four goals but the Roosters quickly responded in the third term.

Robe’s pressure was felt as turnovers were prominent and Sarah Laurie rewarded her team as she shot with impressive accuracy.

The Roosters had momentum on their side and went into the final quarter with a four goal lead.

However, Glencoe refused to die and fought hard to bring the game back to a one-goal deficit.

With just one minute to play, Robe held a slender lead but the Murphies were able to equalise which set up a nail biting final sixty seconds.

The Roosters got the ball into the circle but were unable to convert in time and both sides had to settle for a draw.

Grant and Perkins were the best players for Robe, while Markiewicz and Sarah Edwards were the best on court for Glencoe.
