AFTER a comprehensive loss to West Gambier, South Gambier host Millicent this weekend in the Western Border Netball Association.

The young line-up will be looking to get off to a better start and find some more consistency as they look to challenge the undefeated Saints.

South will want to deny easy access to star Millicent shooter Tabatha Sanderson.

That direct match up will fall to shooter-turned-defender Grace Edwards.

Edwards will need her teammates to support her and place the feeders under pressure to try and force errors.

That means Ellie Bouchier, Ruby Richter and Megan Reid will need to wear their opponents tightly throughout the contest.

The Demons will want to slow down the usually slick Saints ball movement through Paige Nitschke and Demi Verbena.

Lisa Duldig may well be back which only strengthens the Millicent line-up and adds leadership to the court.

Duldig’s battle with Reid will be one to watch.

At the other end, the Demons will need to be safer with ball in hand and find a way through the tenacious Saints defence, while limiting their errors.

Alyssa Duncan and Lara Munro are emerging as a strong shooting combination.

They will need to combine smoothly with Reid and Tully McShane to find space against the tight checking of Portia McRae, Hannah Nitschke and Georgia Clarke.

It is hard to mount a case for South to upset the ladder leaders, but they will be looking for a competitive four-quarter performance.
