NORTH GAMBIER v EAST GAMBIER

NORTH Gambier was untroubled by the Cats last week and will chase another strong performance at home against East Gambier tomorrow.

On the other hand, the Bulldogs would be disappointed by their loss to reigning premier Millicent last round.

They set up a strong foundation on their home deck with a four-goal lead at quarter time but crumbled under the pressure to kick just one further goal for the match.

With only one win on the board they will have a point to prove again this week as they search for a much-needed confidence boost.

However, it will be no small task against the Tigers, who showed exceptional form against the Cats last week.

North had struggled to find four solid quarters of football prior to that game but excelled in all areas of the ground to leave the Victorians in their dust.

Sam Stafford was a spearhead up front with a six-goal bag and the best-on-ground honours.

He will need to be shut down if the Bulldogs are to stay within reach tomorrow.

The likes of Justin McConnell, Nick Blachut and Nick McInerney have also had hot boots in front of goal.

For East, co-coach Matt Scanlon and Garret Ha have been the main targets in the forward 50 but Mark Rumbelow started to find his groove again last week with a couple of majors.

It will be a big day for North, as the new female facilities building is officially opened, while the club will hold an auction night following the senior football.

The Tigers will be eager to put on a show in front of a home crowd and should have plenty to celebrate at the end of the day.
