Bowditch cleans up the field

WINNER: Men's Singles champion Tony Bowditch

The Mount Gambier Bowls Club’s Men’s singles Championship was decided last week, with Tony Bowditch claiming the honours from a strong field of 21 entries.

Jeff England qualified for the final with wins over Daniel Langdon, Ron Cox and Brad Errock, while Bowditch had wins over Tim Radley, Kim Jones and Greg Carpenter to book his final berth.

The final started with both players winning early ends, with the score tied up at 3-3 after five ends.

England bowled well and led 6-4 after eight ends, but Bowditch found his groove.

England battled hard but was unable to hold his opponent who was in control of the game winning the next five ends to lead 14-6.

Bowditch’s classy bowling was not giving his opponent any chance to get back into the match as he went on to claim his second Mount Gambier Bowls Club Singles Championship.
