Plenty to do for Youth Week

YAY FOR YOUTH WEEK: There is plenty on for Youth Week.

This year’s Youth Week will have a range of activities available across the region.

There will be a number of activities for those between the ages of 12 and 24 years including escape room,s disc golf and more.

This year, Youth Week will be held from March 15 with bookings essential for most events.

WATTLE RANGE COUNCIL:

Escape Room ‘Envy’. A 1920’s style murder mystery game. Held on Thursday, March 21 and Friday 22 at 4pm and Saturday 23 at 9am and 10.30am at the Millicent Library.

Disc Golf. Come along and try the world’s fastest growing sport. Equipment provided. Held on March 16 starting at 10am-11.30am.

Kayaking on Lake Leake. Join in to enjoy kayaking on the beautiful Lake Leake. Held on March 23 and three sessions commencing at 9.30am, 10.30am and 11.30am.

CITY OF MOUNT GAMBIER:

Posca Football Painting. Decorate your own footy which will be taken strait to the pool room and placed proudly on display. Held on March 16 from 11am-1pm with a $10 fee at the Riddochs Arts Centre.

Activity by Embrace. Various workshops and engagement sessions with 2023 Australian of the Year and body image powerhouse Taryn Brumfitt. Held on March 19 from 9am-3pm at Wulanda Recreation and Convention Centre. Free.

Make your own Mocktails with Metro. Learn how to make tasty mocktails with the team at metro. Held on March 19 from 5.30pm-7.30pm at Metro Bakery and Cafe. Free.

DnD night. Local dungeon masters from Gaming Nexus will offer both an introduction to DnD as well as options more suited to those experienced players. Held on March 22 from 6pm-8pm at Wulanda Youth Room. Free.

Studio Session – Fringe Tilt Brush. Create a landscape in 360 degrees that fits the theme of ‘glow and grow’ within the virtual reality world. Held on March 23 from 12pm- 2pm. Free.

Photography Competiton. Enter a photo which you feel represents what it means to be a young person in Mount Gambier/Berrin for your chance to win a $100 Camera House voucher. Entries can be submitted to publiclibrary@mountgambier.sa.gov.au or Facebook: Mount Gambier Youth Activation Group with name, age, contact number and a brief sentence caption explaining the image. Opens March 15 and closes March 24.

DISTRICT COUNCIL OF GRANT:

Movie screening of Space Jam: A New Legacy. Held on March 15 from 6pm-8pm at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex.

Acryclic Pour Workshop. Held March 17 from 11.30am-12.30pm at the Port MacDonnell Community Complex.
