THE Rotary Club of Mount Gambier West was visited by Port Fairy ex-club president and district governor John Clue recently.

Club president of the Mount Gambier West Rotary Club, Ray Herbert said the visit did not have a specific purpose but served as a check-up for a variety of reasons.

“The district governor tries to tour all of his clubs in our district, which is a total of 54 clubs in the area,” Mr Herbert said.

Mr Herbert added the purpose of the visits ranged from volunteer welfare to future event planning.

“On this particular day, Mr Clue was checking on club objectives, volunteer health and whether the clubs need any assistance with national projects,” he said.

He also said Mr Clue had found them in “good health” during the visit and added the club has not seen a district governor since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

“This particular circuit of visits happens on an annual basis but we haven’t seen a district governor in this area for nearly two years because of Covid-19.”
