Commercial cannabis crop found in Millicent

A MAN is set to appear on summons in the Millicent Magistrates Court after police raided his home on Saturday and seized 272 cannabis plants.

The 32-year-old was reported for cannabis offences after officers executed a drug warrant.

Uniformed officers located the plants being grown in individual pots in locations around his home which is located in the South East.

In their media statements, police have not stated the exact location of where the drugs were found.

Police also located hydroponic equipment including lamps and ballast boxes.

The man was reported for cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis and possessing hydroponics equipment.

Millicent Police officer in charge Senior Sergeant First Class Peter Brown told The South Eastern Times the plants were immature as they were under 30cm in height.

It is understood to be one of the largest seizures of cannabis plants in the region in recent years.
