LIMESTONE Coast artists will exhibit artworks made as part of the Drawing on Country community day held in different parts of the state earlier this year.

Works from the Drawing on Country day will be on display from Sunday at The Chapel Studio as a South Australian Living Arts (SALA) Festival event.

Organised by Country Arts SA and facilitated by artist Anne Miles, Drawing on Country in the South East saw people of all ages and abilities take part in capturing the beauty of the Mount Gambier lakes area.

Ms Miles helped artists interpret their local landscape through an artistic lens.

“We had a great group of artists who spent the day in the sunshine responding to our local environment,” Country Arts SA creative programs manager Merilyn de Nys said.

“We are opening an exhibition of the works created by local people on the day in The Chapel Studio as a SALA event and we would love everyone to attend.”

The exhibition will officially open on Sunday at 3pm with refreshments provided and works available for sale.

Local artist Deb Rogers will be the guest speaker.

The exhibition will then be open from Monday to August 19 from 11am to 3pm each day or by appointment.

Contact Jo Fife on 0438 813 573 to arrange another time.

The Chapel is located at 146 Suttontown Road, Mount Gambier.
