THE Mount Gambier Softball League held its 2023-24 presentations night this week.

In a close race just two votes separated the league best and fairest and runner-up.

Demons’ Billie Jones claimed the coveted award with a total of 18 votes, narrowly topping fellow Demon Cody Manning on 16.

The RBI award went to the player which batted in the most runs for the season, with Warriors’ Sarah Polderman securing the prize with her 23 RBI’s.

Runner-up for the award was Demon’s Kezia Feast with 20.

The best batting average for the season came from Bandits’ Bec Fox with an average of .611, while teammate Maddie Redman was second in the category with .560.

Also on the night there were a few special awards handed out.

The Liz Robertson best contribution to MGSL award was presented to Warriors’ Mel Chuck, while Sonia Wilson from Concordes was awarded life membership of the league.

On top of her runner-up best and fairest trophy, Manning was also presented the Cath Sims Memorial Award for being MVP of the Mount Gambier Softball League representative team.
