A STRONG turnout of eager bowlers graced the Millicent Bowls Club for the weekly Night Owls competition last week, with some more lucky than expected, with prizes from the South Australian Bowls Association drawn.

In November 2023 Bowls SA ran a social media competition for all South Australian clubs to enter and to promote the Night Bowls Competition.

Clubs could enter a 60-second video of night bowlers having fun.

The video with the most likes on Facebook and Intagram would win a Coopers cooler pack, including a cooler and two packs of Coopers lager.

Sarah Ross entered the Millicent Bowling Club and with help from the Night Owls bowlers and the community, her entry won.

The Night Owls members were all given a free ticket and a raffle was drawn last Wednesday night.

The winners were Kathleen Staude, Mark Skeer and John Chalmers.

Back to the bowls and touches came from Richard North (Rams) 3, Trevor Reilly (Here 4 Beer), Simon Laslett (Lions Roar) 3, Jim Greenfield (Bits & Pieces) 3, Mary Dawson (Birdies) 3, Tony Mills (Untouchables) 4, Malcolm McRobert, Simon Cooper 3 (Maccas), Bill Mullan (Grand Hotel) 4 and Oor Grosvenor (Miss Fitts) 3.

Red Division was won by Untouchables – John Cockrum, David Reichelt, Tony Mills and Tery Barnes – who defeated Jack Attack 30+16.

Other winners were Awesome Foursome 29+11, Rovers 27+4, Grand Hotel 27+2 and Maccas 25+1.
