Ideal conditions at Kingston

DIVISION 2: Runner-up Brian Pennell, Ross Orchard Trophy winner Gavin Sparrow, Division 2 winner Wayne Peters, third Pat Ryan.

KINGSTON was the venue for 75 SE Veterans golfers, with the course in top condition on a fine, but windy day.

The best score for the day was Paul Bosco’s 39 points in Division 1.

Runner-up was Tony Steen with 36 and Lindsay Storer 35.

Division 2 was won by Wayne Peters with 38 from Brian Pennell on 36 and Pat Ryan on 35.

The Ross Orchard trophy went to Gary Watts and Gavin Sparrow, while the Scotch was taken to Robe again, this time by Ian Regnier.

Lyndsay Copeman showed some class on the seventh green with a long 15-metre putt.

Nearest the pins went to Ken MacIntyre, Kym Sandford and Alan Schultz.

The SE Vets will return to Robe on February 19, followed by Blue Lake on March 4, with the AGM at Mount Gambier on March 18.
