Good turnout for great cause

THE Millicent Cancer Support Group hosted a Four-Ball Ambrose competition for golfers and non-golfers recently at the Millicent Golf Club, with 127 players taking to the course in perfect weather.

Volunteers from the Millicent Cancer Support Group cooked a barbecue to feed the hungry golfers throughout play.

A special guest was in attendance – Member for Barker, Tony Pasin.

He assisted the volunteers with the barbecue and was on hand to take photos of the players as they passed the clubhouse for the next hole.

The Millicent Cancer Support Group served snacks at the conclusion of play, followed by an auction conducted by Will Chay.

Local businesses and individuals were generous in supplying items for the auction and prizes for the winning teams.

The Fathers/Sons combination of Shane and Cade Kelly, along with Josh and Brayden Rowe were the winners of the Ambrose competition with a nett score of 52.5.

Runners-up were Jamie Bellinger, Simon Beggs, Stephen Kuhl and Clark Falting with nett 53.75.

Third place went to Brad Tilley, Cameron Haggett, Darryn Tilley and John Facey with nett 54.
