THE Millicent Magic men face a double-header weekend of Country Basketball League competition, which could see them move up the ladder from their current third position.

The Magic travels to Warrnambool on Saturday to face the Seahawks, before hosting the Colac Kookas on Sunday.

The Magic has played three more games than any other side so far, with six wins and three losses.

They have defeated both sides comfortably this season and wold be hot favourites to chalk up another pair of victories.

Millicent opened the season with a 104-66 win over the Kookas on the road, with Jack Haggett and Jackson Bowden hitting 29 and 24 points respectively.

In Round 2 they faced the Seahawks without the two young stars, but in their absence Kade Bradley (26) and William Wimshurst (22) stepped up to the plate to record an 80-66 win.

While the Magic struggled against the Horsham Hornets last game before the bye, they have certainly created plenty of interest and would be one of the favourites when the playoffs finally arrive.

If they can chalk up two wins this weekend it will go a long way to cementing their place at the pointy end of the field.
