Impressive scores top the table

A stableford round was held on Wednesday in overcast conditions at the Mount Gambier Golf Club, with a field of 42 women competing.

At the top of the table in Division 1, Faye Mainwaring claimed the win with an impressive 39 points, from Kate McCormick, also on 39 points.

Division 2 was won by the new women’s captain Lizzie Clements with 39 points, ahead of Debbie Sheather on 37.

Other winners were Betty McKechnie for the pro shot on the eighth hole, Rab Headlam for the A Grade long drive second shot, Yvonne Shirley for B Grade long drive second shot and Linda Boylan C Grade long drive second shot.

Meanwhile, on Saturday 23 women played a stableford round in good weather conditions.

Kathy Ewer claimed the win with 45 points, ahead of Trudy Johnson with 41 and Faye Mainwaring with 38.
