Corporate bowls kicks off

The Robe Community Bank Corporate bowls commenced last Wednesday night with 12 teams competing.

The Sky Lifters won with 16+8 ahead of Matt’s Plumbing were runners-up with 17+6.

Equal third were Hook and Harvest and Sea Vu with 16 points.

In the Mid-week Pennant Robe ventured to Mount Gambier and played Mount Gambier Red.

Mount Gambier Red 43 shots 6 points defeated Robe 36-2.

Paul Truelove, Pam Robinson, Jim Gray and Steve Farrell defeated Bryan Vorwerk’s team 22-17.

Rob Lawrie, Josh Waddell, Dean Burgoyne and David Robinson were defeated by Jeff England’s team 26-14.

The women’s Friday pennant was cancelled due to heat conditions.

Both Division 1 and 2 Open pennant teams travelled to Naracoorte with mixed results.

Division 1 Naracoorte 81 shots 10 points defeated Robe 55-2.

Pat Lynch, Fleur Roachock, Steve Farrell and Stephen Kennett defeated Tom Williams team 26-23.

Peter Gregory, Robbie Dahler, Dean Burgoyne and Peter Roachock were defeated by Peter Marshall’s team 31-12.

Jim Gray, David Robinson, Glenn Wright and Harold Manton were defeated by Ian William’s team 27-17.

Division 2 Naracoorte 67 shots 2 points were defeated by Robe 79-10.

Doug Baker, Barry Bennett, Ali Douglas and Mark Giles defeated David Bennett’s team 23-22.

Bill Cook, Vic Dawson, Josh Waddell and Paul Truelove were defeated by Robert Kirkland’s team 31-20.

Rob Lawrie, Peter DeLaine, Gordon Brown and Deane Nankivell defeated David Parker’s team 36-14.
