MOUNT BURR v KONGORONG

The Mozzies will still be buzzing after a hard-fought win over Glencoe last week and now host Kongorong for Round 16.

They should be well placed for another victory as the Hawks have not tasted success since way back in Round 4.

The last meeting between the sides was a back-and-forth contest, but Mount Burr got the job done in the end by 33 points.

Kongorong will hope for another close tussle, after leading that game at the first and last changes, before succumbing to a six-goal turnaround from the Mozzies.

Matt Cordy was best on ground for the Hawks on that occasion, a position he is all too familiar with.

His influence will be vital again this week, while the likes of Michael Waters, Lennox Lewis and Tyreese Newton come off good games in the loss to Robe last round.

Mount Burr’s Jack Gregory bagged five goals in Round 7 and enters the rematch off another haul of five majors.

He sits third in the league goal kicking and will be on the hunt for another bag, with young guns Jett Bowering and Calum Sparkes entering off impressive midfield performances.

Another good battle could unfold, with this likely being the next closest game after the top-of-the-table clash.

However, Mount Burr should take the points and continue to build towards a strong finish to its season.
