PORT MACDONNELL V MOUNT BURR

Round 13 of Mid South East football could be a tough one for Mount Burr, as they travel down to the coast to face a barnstorming Port MacDonnell.

The Demons now sit top of the ladder after a recent run of wins, including Robe.

They knocked the Roosters off their perch and look set to continue their form as the season heads deep into the second half.

Last week’s win over the Roosters was not small by any means – 47 points – and showed a real push towards the end of the season.

Kev Thomson made his presence felt with three goals and was joined by the usual suspects in Colby Munro and Tim Sullivan, to name just two.

The Mozzies come off a big loss to Kalangadoo in Round 12 and a worse defeat at the hands of Tantanoola in Round 11.

Mount Burr has struggled against the top sides this season, except for a one-point Round 3 win over the Magpies.

Back in Round 4 the Demons accounted for the Mozzies to the tune of 95 points and they have improved a lot since then.

Mount Burr will need the likes of Jack Gregory to stand up in front of goals, while the likes of Josh and Sam Wallis, Tyler Stanley, Rhys Gamble and the usual suspects will need to move the ball well out of the centre, or at least not allow the Demons to do the same, if they are a chance to claim an upset over the ladder leaders.

This game will be a real test for the Mozzies and if current form is anything to go by, the Demons should win this one at a romp.
