Tigers to claim win

Andrew Hyland has shown plenty of ability in front of goals for Nangwarry, but will need all the help he can get if the Saints are to get up over Tantanoola on Saturday. Picture: FILE

NANGWARRY V TANTANOOLA

Nangwarry will look to Round 12 of Mid South East football as a chance to chalk up another victory in 2023, but Tantanoola will not want to provide that opportunity, even away from home.

The Tigers were comprehensive victors over the Saints back in Round 3 and little has changed for either side since then.

It is the best season for the Tigers for many years, but has still thrown up some tough results, along with some impressive wins.

The Saints were first on the list, then the Tigers had to wait until Round 8 against Glencoe for its next win.

Kongorong suffered against Tantanoola in Round 9, while last time out the Tigers were unexpected victors over Mount Burr.

In that game the Tigers started well, continued to build its lead and ran the game out hard for a 41-point victory.

If they can replicate that effort against the Saints they will certainly be in the box seat to grab the win.

While the Saints appeared to be on track for a better 2023, they have claimed just one win – against the eighth-placed Kongorong.

Of course the wild-card is Andrew Hyland up forward for the Saints.

If his team mates can deliver the ball accurately he could kick a bag, but it still a tall order.

Nangwarry has also had plenty of time rest, with a bye the week before the SA Country Championships, so should be fit and ready to go.

However, the Tigers will have too much in this game and should claim a comfortable victory.
