Ideal conditions for golf

THERE were 18 women who competed in a Par round on the short course for the third round of the Olympic event in beautiful conditions at the Millicent Golf Club this week.

Helen Chilton claimed the victory in A Grade with a score of +1.

After a count-back, Lyn Watson finished runner-up with a score of 0.

However, Watson claimed the win in the nine-hole competition with a score of +3 on the back nine.

In B Grade, Karen Lock took out the honours with a score of -4.

Close behind was runner-up Lois Tilley, who finished with a score of -5.

Val Williams, Sue Agnew and Debbie Tincknell were the ball winners.

Kirsty Bailey was the nearest to pin on the third hole, while Marilyn Bellinger was the nearest on the 13th.

For players with a handicap between 0 and 14, Val Williams was the nearest to the pin for the second shot on the 18th hole.

Sue Ireland was the nearest to pin for the second shot on the 17th hole for players with a handicap between 15 and 40.
