In cool and overcast conditions, there were 19 women who competed in a stroke round for the Monthly Medal, putting competition, longest drive and first round of the President Trophy at the Millicent Golf Club last week.

Kirsty Bailey claimed the stroke victory in A Grade and also claimed the overall medal win with a nett score of 73.

She was closely followed by Alex Lambert, who was the runner-up in A Grade with a score of 74.

However, Lambert claimed the nine-hole competition win and was also nearest to pin on the 13th hole.

It was a superb all-round performance as she also won the putting competition with 28 putts for the day.

In B Grade, a count-back was required to decide the winner.

Both Karen Altschwager and Carmel Cory posted nett scores of 76 and after a count-back, Altschwager took home the B Grade honours.

Kathy Webber, Julie McKenzie and Val Williams were the ball winners.

Cory was the nearest to pin for the second shot on the fifth hole, while Liz Redman was closest for the second shot on the 17th.

In the battle for the longest drive, Bailey took out the honours in the 0-20 handicap range, with Bronwyn Clarke (21-35) and Redman (36-54) the other winners.
