ROBE continued its unbeaten run in the 2023 Mid South East football season, with a 16-point victory over Mount Burr on Saturday.

The Roosters had to fight back after a fast first-quarter run from the Mozzies, with the latter leading by six points at the first break.

That was turned around in the second term, where the Roosters put on two major scores and plenty of behinds to take an eight-point lead to the long break.

From there the Mozzies struggled to keep pace, as the Roosters continued to push forward, while limiting time in possession for Mount Burr’s forward pack.

Robe extended its lead further in the third term, taking a 14-point advantage to the last quarter and leaving plenty for the Mozzies to do.

Once again there was little in the contest, but the Roosters did enough to hold off a determined Mozzies roster and claim the win.

Nathan Brown and Joel Bryant kicked three goals each for the victors, with the remainder shared around in singles.

Dylan Ridley topped the list for the Mozzies, also with three majors, while Jack Gregory and Josh Wallis added two each.

Thomas Miller, Henry Lawrie, Bailey Walker, Kaden Woodward, Benjamin Dinning and Jordan Pettit were named best for Robe, while Sam Wallis, Jackson Dean, Jack Muhovics, Peter Guyett, Josh Fiebig and Cory Gamble were best for Mount Burr.
