ROBE 59 D MOUNT BURR 36

IT was an even even start to the Mid South East netball Round 8 clash for Robe and Mount Burr, with both teams driving the ball strongly in their attack line.

Mount Burr wing attack Ella Easterby drove strong to the circle and fed the goalies with strength.

Mount Burr’s Laura Schultz and Robe’s Annie Hunter had a strong contesting game though the centre.

Robe goalies Demi Carter and Tori Gluyas worked the circle well, making space and creating opportunities for wing attack Lucy Perkins to feed with accuracy.

The defensive pressure from both sides forced errors which were capitalised on by the goalies. Mount Burr goal attack Lauren Wheeler moved well to create space in the circle and finished accurately.

The scores were even at quarter time with 12 goals apiece.

Defensive pressure from Robe’s goal defence Emma Grant made the first few goals difficult for Mount Burr, with deflections meaning Clark and Wheeler had to present front to have scoring opportunities.

Easterby continued to be a driving force onto the ring, working patiently with Schultz to feed the goalies.

Gluyas continued to be a strong presence in the goal circle for Robe, making space and holding strongly to receive the ball.

Megan Thiele worked well defensively at Goal Keeper, but Mount Burr made passing errors meaning they were unable to convert from turnovers.

Hunter continued to combine well with Perkins, using angles around the circle to position effectively when feeding goalies.

Robe’s defensive structure forced errors and safely delivered the ball into goalies to create a handy 11-goal lead at the half time break.

Robe made changes, bringing Georgia Perkins into goal keeper to add more height to the defensive circle.

It paid off, with Robe rebounding any missed shots, with transition down court through Hunter and Perkins ensuring shots were scored.

Gluyas and Carter continued to combine well in Robe’s goal circle, presenting strongly to the ball and finishing off with accuracy.

Caitlyn Payne moved to wing attack for Mount Burr and combined well with Schultz to feed goalies.

The Mozzies settled with passes, having patience to limit unforced errors, while Robe made the most of any turnovers to extend the lead by a further three goals.

Mount Burr made more changes, bringing youngster Ashlee Dean on for her second game of A Grade for the club.

Schultz moved into goals and Easterby to the centre.

Gluyas went to the bench, with Halle Carter coming on at goal attack, with her drive and movement creating space in the circle.

Easterby and Hunter had a close contest in the centre, with both creating space and drive for their respective teams.

Any turnovers Mount Burr took in defence were closely contested by Robe, with pressure over passes causing errors.

The Carter sisters continued to score with accuracy, making it difficult for Mount Burr to limit the damage.

Schultz drove hard into the circle, creating space and a presence for Easterby and Payne to feed, but Robe continued to make the most of turnovers which ended up making a difference on the score board.

Hunter continued to feed the goalies with precision passes and Robe’s accuracy in goals helped them to a solid win.

Best players for the victors were Perkins and Ellen Ramke, with Ella Easterby and Caitlyn Payne best for the Mozzies.
