A strong field of 66 contested the Lake Bonney Sporting Clays, Goodnwindi Charolais, 75-target event.

A mix of new and regular shooters were challenged by some tough targets, as well as cool, breezy conditions.

Local shooter Danny Bellinger took out Highgun with a score of 68/75.

AA Grade went to Jeremy Kent, ahead of Brenton Ferguson and Mark Fabris.

In his first shoot back after a break, Locky Irons claimed the A Grade honours, ahead of Mick Banning, just one target off the pace, with Tim Widdison in third.

Top place in B Grade went to Ken Weavers, then a count-back was needed to separate second and third, with Kingston shooter Rob Summers, second and Bill Agnew in third.

New Lake Bonney shooter, Kyle Dodman, won C Grade, two targets ahead of Perry Gurney and Matt Jones respectively.

The seniors grade went to Tony Sellers, just one target ahead of Greg Kessegian.

Veterans was also a close contest, with just one target separating first second and third. Ernie Schiedl claimed the win, from Geoff Lowe and Graham James.

The Ladies division was won by Tasha Bellinger, ahead of Charlotte Devaud and Sonya Vanderhorst.

Toby Finch claimed first in Juniors with no competition.

In the Sub-juniors a count-back was needed to place Ethan Vearing first, ahead of Heath Johnston and Isla Gordon.

Sunday’s competition was also the second and final leg of the Lake Bonney v Burrungule challenge, held over two separate events,

The final result saw Burrungule claim the win by 12 targets.

Lake Bonney Sporting Clays also played host to a CHASA committee meeting and as a result president Wayne Gurney presented a donation to CHASA to help aid them in their conservation efforts.
