THERE was a two-person ambrose event played at the Mount Gambier Golf Club last Wednesday which was sponsored by Helen Gregory.
A field of 44 players took to the course and some impressive scores were recorded.
The popular combination of Kate McCormack and Denise Harvey led the way with a strong net score of 63.75.
The day was highlighted by nine pars and four birdies.
Another standout score came form the mother/daughter duo of Kerry Pedlar and Bev Pedlar, who combined for a net score of 67.
Their performance included an impressive 12 pars and two birdies.
Karen Forster and Jill Johnson finished in third with a net score of 70.5, which included nine pars.
The ever-reliable Faye Mainwaring took home the nearest-to-pin award.
The Saturday women’s competition saw Trudy Johnson claim a strong win in a stroke round.
With a net score of 71, she finished four shots clear of her nearest rival in Faye Mainwaring with a net score of 75.
Helen Gregory rounded out the podium on 76.
