A STRONG field greeted the starter last Wednesday at the Mount Gambier Golf Club for a par round sponsored by Betty McKecknie and Lorraine Stratford.
The course was in top condition after the recent Seniors PGA event and the women got to try their hand at playing a course with the pin placements in some interesting positions.
The top two scores of the day were in Division 2, with Jill Johnson the winner with 1-up, ahead of Gloria Lennon on a count-back with 1-up.
Division 1 saw Jeannette Braun take out the honours on a count back from Jessica Parsons, Yvonne Shirley and Di Norman.
Pauline Paterson had the best shot of the day on the eighth hole with the long drives going to Jennifer Rijthoven, Vicki Clark and Susan Ryan.
A stableford competition was played on Saturday, with Lois Harvey playing a solid round with a winning score of 39 points.
Kathy Ewer was next best with 37 points ahead of Faye Mainwaring.
