AN exciting night of racing is set to take place at the Borderline Speedway on Saturday.

There will be three different classes taking to the track with the All Star Sprint Series, the SA Midlite State Title and the Ti Bills Wingless Sprint Series.

There is much excitement around the All Star Sprint Series as it is the first time the event has been run in Mount Gambier in three years after Covid, followed by poor weather in 2022, meant the series hasn’t been run.

Amongst the 26 entries in this event, there is Scott Enderl, who will fly the flag for Mount Gambier.

He will be joined by familiar faces in Steve and Mark Caruso, Chad Ely, Lisa Walker and Ben Morris, who are all frequent racers at the Borderline Speedway.

There will be 40 wingless sprint cars in action with three Limestone Coast drivers eager to impress.

Kirby Hillyer enters this event off the back of his podium at Borderline two weeks ago in the Victorian Wingless Sprints Series, while Mitchell Broome finished seventh in the same feature race and Kahn Aston will also be competitive this weekend.

Hillyer has been in impressive form this season and will look to back up his recent performance on his home circuit.

Broome was at his best in February as he claimed the win at Waikerie in the South Australian Wingless Sprints Series.

However, the tio will be tested as the current state champion Tyson Martin will be one to watch.

The SA Midlite State Title will see drivers converge from across the country to take part in the event, with South Australia’s Ryan Alexander a driver to watch.

He will be joined by 18 other racers, 13 of whom are from South Australia, while four are making the trip from Queensland for the event and one from the Northern Territory.

Action is set to get underway at 5pm with racing expected to finish around 10.30pm in what should be an enthralling night of at Borderline Speedway.
