AUSTRALIA Day marked the annual Herb Henderson Memorial Men’s Fours competition at the Millicent Bowls Club, with 30 teams and 120 players attending from as far away as Nhill.
The competition was played over three games, with one of 15 ends before sitting down to a catered lunch and the two games of 12 ends.
There were five teams winning all three games.
In first place was a Port MacDonnell team of Adam Wilson, Glenn Wright, Tim Wrightson and Keith Dowdell with 84.5 points.
Runner-up came from Naracoorte – Ian Williams, Ron Garton, Graham East and Jeff East – with 83.5+18 shots.
The Millicent team of John Drew, David Crase, Denis Clifford and Brian Goode finished with 83.5 points and nine shots up for third place, while in fourth place was a team from Nhill with one Millicent member, Trevor Merrett, Rod Cook, Mal Merrett and Frank Cooper from Millicent.
