Round 2 of Limestone Coast Women’s football will be split across two days, with games at Vansittart Park Friday night and Blue Lake Sports Park on Sunday.

After a commanding win over Kalangadoo in the season opener, North Gambier will chase a similar outcome on its home deck against Millicent tonight.

The Tigers blitzed the Magpies by 147 points last weekend and will have their eyes set on consecutive victories to set the foundation for a solid season.

Alice Tentye led her side well last round and will again be a focal point in attack as she comes off a seven-goal best-on-ground performance.

She is well backed in the forward line and will ensure the Millicent defence is kept under constant pressure.

The Saints suffered a loss to Kongorong in Round 1 and will hope to find some improvement after their first taste of action for 2023.

Following Millicent and North’s clash, Kalangadoo and Casterton Sandford will go head-to-head.

The Magpies are yet to score a point after their first round match and will hope to change that today.

However, the Cats enter the round on a high from a win over reigning premier Kybybolite.

They prevailed in a low-scoring affair and have shown they mean business this season.

The likes of Carlie Smith, Amelia Thomas and Libby Altorfer will be ones to watch again, with another physical display expected from the Victorians.

Looking to Sunday’s games and Penola will play its first match of the year after having the bye for Round 1.

The Eagles will match up against South Gambier in what will be an interesting encounter.

The Demons were left in the dust by Mundulla last week in a disheartening 168-0 point loss.

It was a stinging result following a runner-up finish in 2022 and something South will surely be eager to rectify this week.

However, with a new coach and a couple of handy inclusions to last year’s roster, Penola could provide a challenge for the home team.

Their meeting will preceed another anticipated clash between Kybybolite and Mundulla.

Hot off a big win against South, Mundulla will look to knock another 2022 frontrunner off their perch.

Kaylene Rowett will hope to replicate her goal-kicking performance from last week, which rewarded her with nine goals, while the likes of Casey McElroy and Kellsey Hinge will be ones to watch.

Kyby will have a point to prove after its loss to the Cats and the regular contributors the likes of Zara East, Ella Jones and Dellie Brown will look to step up to the occasion.
