THE coveted Master of Mac Park title will be up for grabs next weekend when the annual event roars into life.

The McNamara Park circuit will play host to the event, along with Round 3 of the South Australian state championships.

Bikes will hit the track from Friday for the usual practice sessions, with qualifying Saturday morning, then racing Saturday afternoon and all day Sunday.

The weekend will end on Sunday afternoon with the Master of Mac Park feature races.

Strong fields will grace all classes, with around 100 entries expected.

Reigning Master of Mac Park title holder and multiple winner, Australian Superbike frontrunner Arthur Sissis will look to retain his title, but will not have it all his own way.

The 2017 Australian Supersport champion and current SA and Victorian championship leader Ted Collins is sure to be at the pointy end of the field and provide a real challenge for the remaining riders.

Furner racer Dallas Skeer, an Australian Superbike Supersport regular, is in good form after strong results at the recent Victorian State Championships at Phillip Island.

He finally has his Yamaha machinery sorted and will look to regain his class lap record, along with the coveted overall title.

His pace was evident at Phillip Island, with a third place overall for the round.

Skeer recently stated he had his eye on the top prize, but expects a big challenge, especially with Sissis in the lineup.

However, his lighter 600cc Yamaha R6 is certainly no slouch around the tight circuit, which suits Skeer’s riding style.

“I want to win there,” Skeer told The Border Watch after his run at Phillip Island.

“I have won the 600 class a few times then come second or third in the Master against the Superbikes.

“I haven’t had a chance to have at it on the R6 at Mac Park, so it will be good to see what I am capable of there.

“At Phillip Island I felt so good on it, so I have a heap of confidence to hopefully be able to win and get my lap record back.”

The 2005 winner Ashley Roe has made a return to competitive action and will be one to watch, while t

Father and son duo, multiple sidecar Master of Mac park winners David and Stephen Jones will be on separate machines this time around and are certain to provide plenty of action in the popular category.

Full canteen and bar facilities are available all weekend, with entry $10 per day or $15 for the weekend, while those under 16 are free.

After recent facility improvements, the venue boasts plenty of viewing areas around the circuit to ensure all spectators enjoy the action.
