Eagles in the box seat

Kalangadoo will need to draw on all its experience to claim a win in the Mid South East football Reserves grand final against Hatherleigh on Saturday.

Reserves: Hatherleigh v Kalangadoo

Like their A Grade counterparts, Hatherleigh and Kalangadoo will go head-to-head for this year’s Mid South Eastern football premiership flag on Saturday.

Also, in a similar scenario, Hatherleigh easily accounted for Kalangadoo in the semi-final just a couple of weeks ago.

However, the Eagles finished atop the ladder, unbeaten in the minor rounds.

The Magpies were impressive, but came up short both times against Hatherleigh prior to the semi-final clash.

Both were comfortable victories for the Eagles, who would start this clash as hot favourites.

In that semi-final clash the Eagles began strong and by the main break had the game in their grasp.

They continued to build a lead and finished with a five-goal final term to ice the contest and send a message to the Magpies.

Now it is time for Kalangadoo to make amends but it will take a huge effort if the Magpies are to be victorious.

Anything can happen in a grand final but this one is within the Eagles’ grasp and the premiership cup will head back to Hatherleigh at the end of the game.
