Mount Burr looked to limit Nangwarry’s opportunities in Round 16 of Mid South East netball on Saturday.

Saints shooters Ange Pratt and Tahlia Wilson combined well but the Mozzies denied entry to the goal circle.

Madi Haggett was solid at the defensive end, while at the attacking end Ebony Clark was the focal point and the Mozzies found her in good position, to take a 13-5 lead to the first break.

Nangwarry made changes in the defensive end and brought Alice Circelli on the court at wing defence in an attempt to wrestle back some momentum.

Mount Burr set a defensive zone through the centre, causing numerous turnovers, while Meg Fennell passed with accuracy from the wing.

The Mozzies showed patience in attack, looking to find the goalies close to the ring.

Zoe Brown combined well with Clark and Mount Burr continued to build on its lead.

Laura Schultz went to goal attack and Fennell to centre as the Mozzies flirted with a changed lineup.

Haggett was dynamic in defence, causing turnovers before the Nangwarry goalies had the opportunity to score.

Mount Burr went to the final break with a 19-goal lead.

Mount Burr started strongly in the final term, despite Nangwarry double teaming Clark to try to stem the flow of goals.

Schultz drove hard into the circle and shared the scoring with Clark.

The Saints had some smooth passages of play in their attacking end but were unable to minimise Mount Burr’s transition into attack as the Mozzies ran out convincing victors.

Haggett and Schultz were best for the victors, with Hayley Burner and Kylie Heaver best for the Saints.
